BAYELSA STATE PDP CHAIRMAN GEORGE TURNAH AT THE 108TH NEC MEETING OF THE PARTY

The Bayelsa State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), George Turnah, was in attendance at the party’s 108th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, where key decisions affecting the party’s structure and future were taken.
At the high-level gathering, the PDP ratified major nominations, including the acceptance of Bayelsa State’s nominee, Great Joshua MacIver, into the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), signaling the state chapter’s continued influence within the national leadership framework.
Turnah’s presence at the NEC meeting comes shortly after his emergence as the substantive chairman of the Bayelsa PDP, following a consensus-backed state congress that ushered in a new executive to reposition the party ahead of future elections.
Party insiders say the meeting focused on strengthening internal unity, consolidating structures nationwide, and preparing the PDP for upcoming political contests, including the 2027 general elections. The inclusion of Bayelsa’s nominee into the BoT is seen as part of broader efforts to ensure representation and balance across party strongholds.
Observers note that Turnah’s active participation at the national level underscores Bayelsa PDP’s renewed engagement with the central leadership, amid ongoing moves to rebuild and reposition the party across the country.
