It is Opuama’s turn to produce the next assembly member to represent the good people of Southern Ijaw Constituency 3. ~Inko B.
Southern Ijaw Constituency 3 is made up of five Wards with two Rural Development Authorities namely, BOMO CENTRAL & EAST. BOMO CENTRAL is made up of Ward 6,7 & 8 while BOMO EAST is made up of Ward 12 & 13.
The first elected assembly member namely, Elder Adolphus Ofongo who served two tenure is from the central (Ward 6, Igbumotoru precisely), it was later moved to the East where late Delight Igali from Ward 12 took over the mantle of leadership for a single term and his own brother Honourable Champion Daniel Baraladei Igali fought him and took over the seat from him and served for another two tenure.
After the expiration of Igali’s eight years in office, Honourable Daniel Igali tried contesting but stakeholders resisted his third term ambition and gave it to the incumbent, Honourable Moses Marlon in order to maintain the verbal zoning arrangement between the Cental and East.
Elder Ofongo’s 8 years plus Marlon 4 years = 12yrs .
Delight and Baraladei also spent 12yrs .
Both Cental and East has served twelve years and it is now the turn of BOMO East which the Ward 13 is to produce the next Assembly member for fairness and equity.
