IGBADIWEI EMERGES INC PRESIDENT AS ELECTORAL COMMITTEE DECLARES FINAL RESULTS
The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has officially declared High Chief Macdonald Igbadiwei as the winner of its presidential election, following the conclusion of voting at Ijaw House.
Announcing the results, the Electoral Committee confirmed that Igbadiwei secured a commanding victory with a total of 317 votes, defeating other contenders in what was described as a keenly contested exercise.
According to the final results released, Prof. Franklin Erepamo Osaisai polled 162 votes to emerge second, while Engr. Ebipamowei Wodu garnered 53 votes. Chief T.K. Ogoriba received 11 votes, Chief Nengi James secured 4 votes, and Rear Admiral Woyenidikpete Geoffrey Yenga polled 1 vote.
According to TvAfrica24 News reports the election, held at the revered Ijaw House, drew delegates and stakeholders from across Ijaw communities, reflecting strong participation in the leadership selection process of the apex Ijaw socio-cultural body.
With this outcome, Igbadiwei is set to steer the affairs of the INC, succeeding the outgoing leadership at a time when expectations are high for unity, development advocacy, and stronger representation of Ijaw interests both regionally and nationally.
Observers described the process as largely peaceful and transparent, commending the Electoral Committee for conducting a credible exercise. Attention now turns to the incoming administration and its agenda for advancing the collective aspirations of the Ijaw people.
