Barr. George Turnah Meets Bayelsa Elder Statesman, Ogbarisi, Reaffirms Commitment to Unity and Development

YENAGOA – The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Barrister George Turnah, MON, has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering unity and advancing the development of Bayelsa State following a courtesy visit to respected elder statesman, Chief Peter D. W. Ogbarisi (Chief Superintendent of Corps, Rtd.), at his country home in Elebele Community, Ogbia Local Government Area.

The visit, described as cordial and symbolic, provided an opportunity for both leaders to engage in warm interactions and exchange views on matters of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development across Bayelsa State.

Turnah noted the importance of continuous engagement with respected community leaders and stakeholders whose wealth of experience remains invaluable to the growth and stability of the state. He stressed that inclusive dialogue and collaboration remain essential to strengthening democratic values and ensuring lasting progress.

Chief Ogbarisi welcomed the PDP chairman and commended the spirit of consultation and respect demonstrated through the visit. He emphasized the need for political leaders to remain focused on policies and initiatives that unite the people and promote the overall welfare of Bayelsans.

The meeting further underscored the shared commitment of both leaders to the ideals of peace, good governance, and collective efforts towards the continued socio-economic advancement of Bayelsa State.
