PDP Releases Timetable, Guidelines for 2027 Primaries in Bayelsa

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has officially released its timetable and guidelines for the conduct of party primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging aspirants to adhere strictly to outlined procedures.
In a press statement issued in Bayelsa State, the party announced that the timetable is part of its commitment to transparency, internal democracy, and due process. It called on all interested aspirants under its platform to carefully study the guidelines and comply with all stipulated timelines.
The PDP further directed aspirants to report to the party’s secretariat in Yenagoa within the approved period to obtain additional information and participate in necessary briefings that will guide their involvement in the electoral process.
Reaffirming its long-standing gender inclusion policy, the party disclosed that nomination forms for female aspirants contesting seats in the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate will be provided free of charge. According to the statement, the move is aimed at promoting gender equity and encouraging greater participation of women in governance.
The party leadership also urged all aspirants to conduct themselves in line with its core values of unity, discipline, and respect for democratic principles.
Expressing optimism about its electoral prospects, the PDP stated that through collective effort and strict adherence to due process, it remains confident of securing victory in the 2027 elections and delivering credible leadership to the people of Bayelsa State and beyond.
