Yesterday in a heartfelt show of solidarity, critical stakeholders from the Alabini enclave in Ekeremor Constituency 3,Bayelsa State were received by Chief Berry Negerese, leader of the Wind of Progress forum, to express their condolences following the passing of his elder cousin, HRH Chief Ibe Jonathan, the Amananaowei of Bisangbene Community whose sad demise occurred on the 16th July,2025.
The delegation was composed of prominent figures, including Elder Luke Dumero, Bayelsa State PDP Treasurer; Hon. Dein Benadoumene, The Chairman of Bayelsa State Assembly Service Commission; Elder Ebiyekon Clement, Central Zone Vice Chairman of INC; Chief Augustine Lugbeinwei, an esteemed elder statesman; Mr. Ockia Oba; and Mr. Ebiyekon Victor, a member of the Bayelsa State Housing and Property Development Board, among others.
In addition, the General Overseer of the Breastplate of Righteousness, Apostle Godβspower Arekumor, along with his congregation, also visited Chief Negerese to offer their sympathies during this grieving moment .
Expressing his gratitude, Chief Berry acknowledged the support from the various delegations, drawing strength from Apostle Godβspower’s comforting words: “If not for the wish of God, this wouldnβt have happened.” He reflected on the nature of death, stating, “Death is an inevitable phenomenon. My prayer is for a celebration of life, not this painful premature death.”
The visits underscored the solidarity of the people in mourning and celebrating the legacy of HRH Chief Ibe Jonathan, a respected figure who will be dearly missed forever.
