A former frontline Chairmanship aspirant for Southern Ijaw LGA, Hon. Temple Newman Dickson, who hails from Angiama community has urged the public to disregard any public announcement made by any person or group of persons representing Angiama Community calling on the Governor to review his decison of Hon. Target’s choice as PDP Candidate for the April 6th LG Council Chairmanship election that it should be given to them or her group’s interest in the person of Mr. Maxwell Lawyer as reported in its radio announcement. The move is not just cynical but targeted at projecting the political image of Angiama community in bad light before the state Government and its political actors.
Hon. Temple Newman Dickson, stated that the process of the LG Council Chairmanship Candidate selection was over and it’s time to join hands with the candidate, Hon. Target Segibo to ensure a smooth and victorious outing on the 6th of April and further distances himself and team from the said radio announcement.
Hon. Temple who was directly involved in the contest whose name was amongst the three selected aspirants by all stakeholders of the LGA that were forwarded, has accepted the decision of the Governor and PDP for picking Hon. Target and had since sent his heartfelt congratulations, even embracing all activities of Hon. Target leading to the April 6th polls.
He lamented with total dismay that those making such announcement are people who are selfish & do not understand what internal democracy means, hence called on the general public to disregard it in its entirety and strongly warns the persons who engineered the refered radio broadcast to desist from such unschooled political gimmicks that may destroy the good image of Angiama which has the general sympathy of stakeholders and the Leader of our Party, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri.
Hon. Temple Newman Dickson, noted that he was not too desperate to become the Local Government Chairman but was only justly expressing his desire at a time the ward (2) he was coming from has been faced with issues of marginalization.
Nevertheless, he maintained that the decision made by the leader of the party His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri and the party leadership is in the best interest of all including him which he had accepted, therefore called on all Silgarians particularly the people of Angiama to support Hon. Target Isaiah Segibo candidacy and prayed for other opportunities to benefit Angiama community being one of PDP strongholds in SILGA ward II.
