WIKE HAS DONE MORE FOR IJAW THAN THOSE IJAW LEADERS CRITICISING HIM – ENGR UDENGS ERADIRI

Ordinarily, I didn’t want to comment on this FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike and ijaw nation issue. I have been struggling with myself for restraint but I can no longer be quiet in this misdirection of emotions and this attempt to drag the entire ijaw Nation into bad blood with our neighbors and the bad books of the Federal Government .

I am not a Wike man neither am I looking for his endorsement. I have since given up on it and moved on with my life. I tried frantically to see him before the governorship election in Bayelsa State when I contested as the Labour Party (LP) Candidate but later realised that some persons were planted to make it impossible for me.

I guess it was the game at the time because a Wike’s endorsement would have perhaps made the outcome of the governorship election different. No wonder Governor Douye Diri saw it too and desperately looked for his endorsement. It is no longer news that Wike’s endorsement led to the victory of Douye Diri. In fact, if not for the cancellation of the results in the stronghold of Chief Timipre Sylva, the Candidate of the APC in the election made possible by Wike’s connections, things would have been different.

This brings me me to the hypocrisy in display today. When Douye Diri, whom parades himself as the “Governor-General of the Ijaw Nation” went to kneel down for Wike to collect power he used in ijawland to win Sylva and myself where was the Ijaw pride they so profess today?

I know the arrows will begin to point at me but you all know me. I am not afraid of fights or abuses in as much as I speak my mind.

When Wike spent over N5billion to develop Law School in Yenagoa, an ijawland, which the self-acclaimed ijaw lovers failed to develop, where were the so-called lovers of ijaw? When the same Wike donated N500m for the Bayelsa Medical School, where were the those attacking him today?

Go and see the Law School Wike built in Ikwerre land. Before you say he insulted ijaw Nation in his interview, I want to ask can we replay his statements and carefully listen to them without biases and then tell me if they were not bitter truths. As usual, our people don’t read or listen, but they have gone to the ijaw Square to sentence Wike and without even knowing what the issues are we jumped on the bandwagon of crucification.

Lets even ask ourselves, this our ijawness, why is it not in the development and progress of our nation and people? Why always solidarity at war but not for development?

Look at Yenagoa, the Capital of the ijaw Nation like a place where mad people reside. Yenagoa is replete with many abandoned projects left uncompleted by some ijaw leaders. No solidarity shown for the development; for the light up and progress of ijaw nation. Our Airport is moribund and our schools are a disgrace to education? Young talents are deliberately not encouraged to stardom, jobless youths roam the streets because of visionless leadership.

In fact, there is no hope of survival but you are very active on solidarity to fight political battles of those impoverishing you. Just imagine herdsmen.are in our bushes killing and destroying our crops yet no solidarity to deal with such a menace but same youths can gather against a speech of fact from the Deputy Governor. So, does it mean that we cannot gather for our progress but can easily gather against a perceived political enemy?

Minister Wike took PDP away from Governor Douye Diri and his colleague governors all of a sudden Wike is now against ijaw nation? When did ijaw people choose PDP as ijaw party? Diri go and deal with your issues in PDP and stop dragging ijaw people into what does not concern us.

As for the the suspended Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, he is incompetent and that is what has brought all this negative energy. He should stop involving ijaw in his political issues and affairs, that he mishandled and failed to show leadership.

In the first place, how has Fubafab supported the ijaws or ijaw activities? How many ijaws of Rivers State did he empower to support him now? How many of the IYC comrades in Eastern zone did he make local government chairmen, commissioners and appointees? Or are ijaw youths of Eastern Zone only good to support fights but not good enough for appointments and empowerments?

When Wike visited Abalama, how much did Fubara mobilise his people to stop him? Wike is a fighter and I like his style . I advise Fubara to go and kneel before Wike and beg him for forgiveness. Those, who are deceiving him have no balls. They go cap in hand kneeling and begging same Wike when they get it they come in the open to claim ijaw lions. Now Fubara is the one outside they are there ranting. Mr President used the state of emergency to save Fubara and the ijaw nation the embarrassment of impeachment. So, he should go thank and appreciate President Bola Tinubu.

When Wike chose Fubara and singlehandedly made him a governor, no ijaw gathered or even went to thank him. Fubara did not buy form and did not speak a word during campaigns why should he now be disobeying and reneging on agreement? Men are those, who keep their words and abide by the agreements they sign.

This brings me to the issue of the Ijaw National Congress (INC). INC, please stop ethnicizing political issues. This insults on the ijaw Nation are brought to us by the mishandling of ijaw issues by INC. Those supporting Wike are ijaws too.

Abalama chiefs and youths lined up to welcome Wike, are you saying they are no longer ijaws? George Kelly and the numerous ijaw sons empowered by Wike are they not ijaws. Please, stop this usu of INC to romance governors’ egos. The INC as an institution is bigger than them and once you belittle the INC before these incompetent governors then the institutions will be ripe for ridicule and insults. Nobody is more ijaw than any other. So, the INC should protect all interest and stay away from politics.

None of these governors have empowered ijaw Nation more than Wike. The peanuts they give to our platforms cannot be mentioned anywhere as support. Can’t you see how Wike developed his people and empowered them? If they want to challenge him they should brag with their work on ground. Wike’s work is visible for the blind to see even in our ijaw land.

I know this will cost me my INC ambition but at this moment i don’t even care anymore because I can’t lead an institution that is misguided and misdirected to perish the ijaw nation.

The young ones should query this fake love for the Ijaw Nation. Consider the following:

1. The NDDC Forensic Audit Report revealed that the so-called lovers of ijaw Nation stole moneys meant to develop this same ijaw nation they so profess to love, took jobs paid in full and never executed them for ijaw benefit.

2. They underdeveloped the only ijaw state, Bayelsa and render the Yenagoa, the capital city unattractive. This is pure wickedness to ijaw by ijaw leaders.

3. Look at the educational sector and how they messed it up. The education of the next generation is in shambles. Will any of the leaders send their children to the schools they superintend over in ijaw land?

4. ⁠Atala Marginal Field, the only one owned by ijaw state was taken away from Ijaw youths and sold to outsiders by ijaw leaders to the detriment of ijaws. We lost jobs and an opportunity for economic growth of the same ijaw nation.

5. Just imagine the darkness in ijawland; no power to drive growth, if not for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) led by Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, who is not in their league and who they continue to fight to bring down, our communities would have still been in darkness at night

Please, lets stop ethnicizing political issues. Governor Diri and Fubara should go fight their political party battles and leave ijaw nation out of politics. When it favors you, you laugh and dance in thanksgiving , when it doesn’t favor you, it becomes an ijaw affair.

Minister Wike is not an ijaw enemy, you people are the real enemies
