A delegation of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Bayelsa State, led by Chief Chinedu Athur has paid a condolence visit to Rt Hon Dr Tonye Emmanuel Isenah, former Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, over the death of his father.
The group, led by. Hon Arthur-Ugwa Chinedu Felix Chinedu, visited the residence of the former Speaker in Yenagoa to express their sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family during this period of mourning.
Speaking during the visit, Chief Chinedu who is SA to the Governor of Bayelsa state on special Duties described the loss as painful, noting that the passing of a father, regardless of age, leaves a deep void that cannot easily be filled. He said the forum deemed it necessary to identify with Isenah, whom he described as a leader who has shown inclusiveness and support to non-indigenes in the state.
“We are here to share in your grief and to let you know that you are not alone in this moment of sorrow. Your father lived a fulfilled life, and we pray that God grants you and your family the strength to bear this loss,”Hon Felix stated.
Responding, Isenah appreciated the group for the visit, describing it as a show of love and unity that transcends ethnic and cultural boundaries. He noted that such gestures serve as encouragement to the family in their time of grief.
The visit featured prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for comfort for the family he left behind.
