Turnah Briefs PDP National Chairman on Bayelsa Party Affairs, Vows Return to Government House
Abuja, Nigeria – The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Barr. George Turnah, MON, on Thursday met with the party’s National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, where he provided an update on the state of the party in Bayelsa and reaffirmed efforts to reclaim power in the state.
According to Turnah, the meeting offered an opportunity to brief the national leadership on developments within the Bayelsa chapter of the PDP and the progress made under his leadership since assuming office.
The Bayelsa PDP chairman expressed confidence in the party’s growing strength in the state, assuring the National Chairman of the commitment and determination of party members to reposition the PDP for future electoral victories.

He stated that the party remained focused on returning to Creek Haven, the official seat of government in Bayelsa State, stressing that efforts were ongoing to strengthen party structures and mobilise support across the state.
Turnah further noted that the Bayelsa PDP leadership was working closely with stakeholders and supporters to build a united front capable of restoring the party to power.
In his response, the PDP National Chairman reportedly expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded by the party in Bayelsa State and commended the state leadership for its efforts in rebuilding and repositioning the party.
He also assured the Bayelsa chapter of the continued support of the national leadership, emphasizing the importance of unity, discipline and grassroots mobilisation in achieving the party’s objectives.
The meeting comes amid ongoing political realignments ahead of future elections, with the PDP leadership in Bayelsa seeking to strengthen its position and expand its support base across the state.
