SUSPENSION OF YOUTH ACTIVITIES IN AYAMASA COMMUNITY
BAYELSA STATE MINISTRY OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

PRESS RELEASE
SUSPENSION OF YOUTH ACTIVITIES IN AYAMASA COMMUNITY
The Bayelsa State Government has suspended activities related to the election and inauguration of a new youth president in Ayamasa community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state.
This decision is sequel to the recent crisis in the community during the inauguration of a new youth president, resulting in the burning of the vehicle belonging to the community’s paramount ruler.

Consequently, the state government directs that all youth-related activities, including election into community youth bodies, must receive prior clearance from the Ministry of Youth Development.
The state government warns that any individual or group of persons that violates this directive will face appropriate sanctions as security agencies have been mandated to enforce this directive.
The Bayelsa State Government urges all youth organisations in the state to cooperate with the Ministry of Youth Development and the security agencies by providing useful information that would lead to identifying and arresting the perpetrators of the violence in Ayamasa Community.
Signed:
Alfred Kemepado Nimizigha.
Commissioner for Youth Development, Bayelsa State
