Support Dickson’s reelection bid, Bayelsa PDP member tells Diri, demands apology to former governor
Yenagoa—A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Ebiarede Emeli has urged Governor Douye Diri to publicly support Chief Seriake Dickson’s second term ambition as lawmaker representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

In a statement sent to mangrovepen.ng on Tuesday, Emeli stated that Governor Diri has been a beneficiary of Dickson’s benevolence.
He, therefore, insisted that Diri should show his gratitude to the former Bayelsa state helmsman (Dickson).
The statement reads in part: “It should be recalled that the former Governor now Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Henry Seriake Dickson, had been very instrumental in the career evolution of the incumbent Governor, Senator Douye Diri.
“Governor Diri served as Principal Secretary and Deputy Chief of Staff to the then Governor Dickson. He would later become the member representing Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma in the Federal House of Representatives and Senator representing Bayelsa Central respectively, and most recently, becoming the Governor of Bayelsa State against all odds with the complete backing of Dickson.
“I call on our miracle Governor, Senator Douye Diri, to harken to the many voices of the people of Bayelsa west and openly show complete support to the man of the people, rather than keep mute over this situation.
“Governor Douye Diri and his predecessor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, need each other equally for a greater and better Bayelsa.
“Both men together will be like having an unstoppable force and an immoveable object together in one page,” he noted.
