Queen Hassana Ozohu Salisu: A Rising Force in Nigeria’s Entertainment and Humanitarian Space

Queen Hassana Ozohu Salisu is a notable figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry whose journey reflects resilience, leadership, and impact. In 2024, she contested for a leadership position in the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Kogi State Chapter. The election, however, was marred by controversy, as it was allegedly sabotaged, and she was reportedly framed by some AGN members due to resistance toward a young woman aspiring to positions of power and authority.

Despite this setback, her leadership capacity and influence within the industry continued to gain recognition. On January 14, she was officially appointed Special Adviser (SA) to the President-Elect of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Abubakar Yakubu, in charge of Entrepreneurial Development, one of the most sensitive and strategic arms of the Guild. This appointment followed her proven leadership strength, ability to impact lives, and consistent contributions to industry development.

In 2024, Queen Hassana launched several skills-training initiatives within the entertainment industry, where she reportedly trained over 100 individuals. She also conducted talent discovery and audition programs across four geopolitical zones in Nigeria. These included a five-day mega audition in Abuja, organized under the umbrella of Orit Gee Media, which recorded over 200 participants, as well as one-day mega talent discovery and auditions in Benin City and Enugu.

Beyond entertainment, Queen Hassana has an extensive track record in humanitarian service as the Founder of the Sallhassy Empowerment Foundation (SE Foundation). Her publicly recorded projects include feeding over 450 Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Abuja, donating bags of rice to IDP camps during the Kogi State flood, training young talents in Kogi State on entertainment skills in 2024, Project Care for Street Kids, support for fibroid operations, acts awareness campaigns, and several other social intervention initiatives.

She currently holds the prestigious title of Miss Nollywood International Queen Hassana Ozohu Salisu 2024/2025, positioning her as both a beauty queen and an industry leader. She previously served as the Chairman of the Northern Filmmakers Association of Nigeria (Abuja Chapter), where she led the association for three years, beginning at the remarkably young age of 23. She is also an active member of the Association of Movie Producers of Nigeria (AMP).

Queen Hassana is an author, currently stepping fully into her creative power as a full-time script and story writer, a casting director, and the Founder of Sallhassy Agency Limited. Sallhassy Agency is a casting agency with a proven track record of managing over 400 actors and has reportedly employed more than 2,000 actors, skit makers, and gig professionals over the past two years. The agency operates from its office in Abuja, Nigeria.

She also serves as the Managing Director of Orit Gee Media Company. In recognition of her impact, she received the Social Impact Award and Award of Excellence from Omedia in 2024. In December 2024, she was honored as Casting Director of the Year by the SHOFAN Hall of Fame Awards, and also received the Nollywood Personality of the Year Award from Legendary Movie Productions.

Queen Hassana Ozohu Salisu was born on November 24, 1998, and hails from Okene, Kogi Central, Kogi State, Nigeria. She is not married and has no children.

Academically, she holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication and Journalism from Temple Gate Polytechnic, Aba, and a National Diploma in Social Development from Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic. She is certified in Procurement by the Chartered Institute of Procurement Studies, Nigeria, holds a Diploma in Filmmaking from Mina Film Academy, and has qualifications in International Relations and Diplomacy in Nigeria. She is also certified in Transitional Film Projects by Bournemouth University, London.

In 2024, she competed against contestants from across Nigeria and emerged as the winner of Miss Nollywood International, a title that has positioned her as one of the most impactful queens Nigeria has crowned, with a clear agenda for youth development and industry growth.

She is the CEO and Leader of Sallhassy Agency Limited, Founder of Sallhassy Empowerment Foundation, Founder of Sallhassy Homes and Properties, and the Founder of the Miss Nollywood International Walk of Fame and Merit Award. She is widely regarded as a creative force within the Nigerian entertainment ecosystem.

Queen Hassana has served in several leadership roles within the entertainment and actors’ communities, driving strategic projects and collaborations. Her philanthropic work includes youth and women empowerment initiatives, orphan support programs, large-scale feeding and outreach efforts, and community development interventions through the Sallhassy Empowerment Foundation.

As Miss Nollywood International, she unveiled a One-Year Development Plan aimed at discovering talents, empowering youths, rehabilitating roads, protecting girls’ rights, and promoting national development under the slogan “For the Love of My Nation.” She has also actively advocated for road safety and pothole reduction initiatives across Nigeria.

Her public statements and actions consistently emphasize industry growth, talent empowerment, community service, social reform, and collaboration with government, media, and stakeholders to achieve sustainable development goals.

Queen Hassana’s coronation and humanitarian impact have received wide coverage across Nigerian media platforms and public forums. She is regarded as a role model for young women and a leading creative figure of her generation. Her journey sends a powerful message: if a 25-year-old woman without a background of wealth or privilege can rise with determination, focus, and impact in Nigeria’s challenging environment, then there is little stopping young girls—especially those in the entertainment and pageant sectors—from aspiring boldly and moving forward with purpose.
