Prolific Singer Emmy Rhymes Holds Prison Outreach in Kuje Prison, Abuja
One of the most talented music artistes, Emmy Rhymes on Saturday, November 23, 2024 held a massive humanitarian outreach at Kuje Prison, Abuja with a primary focus of touching lives through the rehabilitation of prison inmates and those in need.
The music star who shared quality time with the correctional service inmates with other entertainers, entertained the inmates in music, comedy and talks
Emmy Rhymes offset fines imposed on some prison inmates to secure their release, conduct free skill acquisition programs, paid school fees for WAEC of 10 inmates, mental health initiatives, donation of cash, food items and toiletries as well as providing
legal assistance for 10 inmates.
Emmy Rhymes has consistently demonstrated goodwill to the less privileged in the society with his humanitarian outreaches.
“ Am so happy with the impact we were able to make with this. You can see the happiness on their faces. They didn’t want us to go. More of this is highly needed. This Prison Outreach has now become my Pet project, I will be taking this gesture to various correctional centers across Nigeria. To see how I can help my brothers and sisters to be get the necessary rehabilitation they need, so that they can become better people. They are not condemned, there is still hope. So am calling on like minded individuals to join me on this journey ” he said.
Expressing thier excitement, the beneficiaries appreciated the kind gestures, stating that the initiative will help them in gaining something meaning for their lives. They promised that they will be of good character while serving and when they are out, they will become better citizens.
Responding, the Chaplain of the Chapel of Freedom, appreciated the organizers for the great initiative, urging the team to do more. He also called for a closer collaboration and working relationship that will help inmates do their time in the facility.
