Yenagoa — The Bayelsa State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has announced a comprehensive schedule of meetings, congresses and official engagements as part of activities leading to the party’s state congress and the formal inauguration of newly elected officials.

According to the timetable released by the party, activities will commence on Saturday, February 28, 2026, with a State Caretaker Working Committee Meeting, expected to set the tone for subsequent engagements.

This will be followed by an Expanded State Caucus Meeting scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, bringing together key stakeholders and leaders of the party across the state. On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the party will hold its State Executive Committee (SEC) Meeting, where critical party matters are expected to be deliberated upon.

The congresses will begin with the Ward Congress on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, followed by the Local Government Congress on Friday, March 6, 2026. The process will culminate in the State Congress, slated for Sunday, March 8, 2026.

In addition, the party announced that the official commissioning of the new Bayelsa State PDP Secretariat will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The event will also feature the inauguration of newly elected ward, local government and state officials, as well as members of other statutory committees of the party.

Party leaders say the series of activities is aimed at strengthening internal democracy, repositioning the party’s structures, and ensuring a smooth leadership transition across all levels of the party in Bayelsa State.
