PASTOR REUBEN PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO BEREAVED FAMILY LATE PATRICK PERESUODEI, URGES PEACE

Amassoma, Bayelsa State — Founder Pastor Reuben Initiatve for Good leadership and accountability who double as member governing Council university of Uyo Akwa ibom state Chief Pastor Reuben C Wilson today paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family of Patrick Peresuodei in Amassoma Bayelsa’ state Nigeria, expressing sympathy and calling for peace, over the circumstances surrounding their loss.

Pastor Reuben, who described himself as an Ijaw son that is touched by what has happened , said he could not remain silent upon hearing the sad news. According to him, members of his initiative are numerous across Amassoma and beyond, and it was important for him to personally sympathise with the grieving father, mother, and the entire family.

“I came on a condolence visit to sympathise with the family in this difficult time,” he said, stressing the need for unity and calm.

The family, in their response, appreciated Pastor Reuben for the visit and described it as a show of genuine concern. They noted that they had long heard of his good works and were glad to witness his compassion firsthand.

“We have been hearing about Pastor Reuben and how good he is. Today, we have seen it for ourselves,” a family representative said.

The family, however, used the opportunity to plead with the pastor Reuben initiative to help ensure that Bodmas Kemepadei should submits himself to the police. They insisted that the matter is beyond the Amassoma community and now rests in the hands of the state governments.

According to them, reports suggesting that Bodmas may be hiding in the residence of a prominent Niger Delta leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, should not distract from the core demand that he present himself to security authorities.

“We cannot say much because the matter is now in the hands of government. What we want is for Bodmas to come out openly and report himself to the police,” the family stated.

Speaking during the visit, the Youth President of Amassoma, Ogbofa Joel, thanked Chief Pastor Reuben for what he described as a peaceful and timely intervention. He said the visit symbolised peace and solidarity with the community.

He further warned that if Bodmas fails to submit himself to the authorities, the youths may be compelled to take action. However, he appealed to Tompolo, whom he described as a good man who loves Ijaw youths, to show concern over the issue if there is any truth to the allegations.

In response, Pastor Reuben corrected the youth president , stating that the Tompolo he knows would not shield anyone involved in injustice. He said he could not believe that Bodmas would be harboured by Tompolo in a matter of such gravity, as the Niger Delta leader is known to detest injustice.

Also speaking, a member of the entourage identified as Chief Justice advised the youth president and other young people to toe the path of peace and allow due process to take its course.

Pastor Reuben concluded by urging youths to live responsibly in society, reminding them that they are the leaders of tomorrow and must always speak and act in the interest of peace.
