Members of the Odi Ogori Ba Uge International Festival Planning Committee, led by Dr. Ebi Udisi, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Director, Social and Human Capital Development of the South South Development Commission (SSDC), Engr. Prince Preye Aganaba, at his residence in Odi community.
The visit, which was part of the committee’s consultation and engagement efforts ahead of the 2025 edition of the renowned Izon festival, afforded them the opportunity to update Prince Aganaba—who is also a proud son of Odi—on the level of preparations and milestones achieved so far.
Dr. Udisi and his team briefed the SSDC Director on planned activities, logistics, community involvement, and cultural showcases that are expected to highlight the uniqueness of the Ogori Ba Uge festival.
In his remarks, Prince Preye Aganaba warmly welcomed the committee and commended their commitment to preserving and promoting Odi cultural heritage. He reiterated his full support and pledged to contribute towards ensuring the festival’s continued success, describing it as a vital platform for cultural expression, youth inclusion, and unity among the Odi and Ijaw people.
The meeting ended with mutual assurances of collaboration to elevate the festival to new heights and position it as a major cultural event in the Niger Delta and beyond.
