TOPIC: GLORIFYING GOD

Fire Scripture: John 15:1-8

OUTLINE: MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 14TH FEBRUARY 2021 TODAY SUNDAY

A supreme duty of man is to glorify God. As a believer and child of the kingdom, you must ensure that every area of your life conforms to the will of God and brings glory to Him. The Psalmist enjoins believers to “give unto the LORD glory and strength as well as the glory due unto his name and to worship Him in the beauty of holiness” (Psalm 29:1-2). How do you glorify God in your daily life? First, when you sing praise and worship songs to God, you bring glory to Him.

In Psalm 22:23, the Bible says, “Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.” Praise and worship will also help you to stay connected to God. The second way you can glorify God in your daily life is by doing God’s work (serving God and others, sharing the gospel, etc). Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Also, when you bear fruit in the Kingdom of God, you bring glory and honour to God. The Bible affirms this in John 15:8, “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” You are fruitful in the Lord when you are useful and productive in His work. Furthermore, you can bring glory to God by promoting spiritual unity or oneness. That is why the Bible provides this admonition, “Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you” (2 Cor. 13:11).

Similarly, you can glorify God by your entire consecration. When you make yourself holy, dedicated and set apart unto God and His service, you become wholly consecrated to Him. 1 Cor. 6:20 says, “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” Finally, you glorify God when you fulfill His purpose for your life. Apostle Paul said that he had fought the good fight, finished his course, kept the faith and a crown of righteousness awaits him (2 Tim. 4:7-8).

Beloved, everything about you should glorify God: your ministry, marriage, career, business, finances, and so on. That is the expectation of heaven concerning you. God will not share His glory with anyone. Receive the grace to honour Him with your life and all that concerns you!

Memory Verse: 1 Peter 4:11 – “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

Motivational Quote: God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him.

Prophetic Word: Today, anything working to destroy God’s glory in your life shall catch fire, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN: Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING:
1. Father, I present my life to You as a living sacrifice, in the name of Jesus.
2. My Father, I offer my life to You, use it for Your glory, in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, give me the grace to bear much fruit for You, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING:
4. Anything that wants to take the place of God in my life or share in His glory, die, in the name of Jesus.
5. Father, I glorify You in my body, soul and spirit, in the name of Jesus.
6. Father, I dedicate my life to Your service in honour of Your holy name, in the name of Jesus.
7. Father, make me an ambassador of peace and unity in Your Kingdom, in the name of Jesus.
