TODAY’S SCRIPTURE FOR JOYCE MEYER DEVOTIONAL 5 NOVEMBER 2020

So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free. — John 8:36 (AMPC)

TODAY’S WORD:

Are you “really and unquestionably free”? If you allow yourself to be controlled by other people, thoughts, feelings, and habits, you’re actually not free. On the other hand, people who are free are spontaneous and unconfined, not bound, fastened, or attached. They’re not limited by past mistakes because they’ve received the forgiveness Jesus died to give them, and they serve a God to whom nothing is impossible.

The psalmist made this bold statement in Psalm 119:45 (AMPC): “I will walk at liberty and at ease.” By saying “I will,” he indicates he has made a decision to be free and refuses to be held captive.

In the same way, this is what God wants each of us to do. He wants us to have enough holy boldness to declare that the Son has liberated us from all oppression, and that we’re determined to walk in the glorious freedom He’s provided for us.

Prayer Starter: Jesus, please help me develop and grow that holy sense of boldness and determination that I need to walk in the freedom You died to give me. Thank You for paying such a high price so I could live free in every area of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
