IJAW UNITY, REPRESENTATION DOMINATE AS IGBADIWEI STORMS EASTERN ZONE WITH REFORM AGENDA

High Chief MacDonald Ebi Igbadiwei, a frontline presidential hopeful of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), has taken his Think Ijaw First campaign to the Eastern Zone, placing issues of unity, representation, and institutional reform at the centre of his message ahead of the forthcoming INC elections.

During the visit, Igbadiwei engaged extensively with stakeholders, elders, women, and delegates across the zone, presenting his vision for a more cohesive and strategically repositioned INC. He stressed the urgency of collective action in addressing internal divisions and advancing the shared interests of the Ijaw people.

Responding to concerns raised during the engagements, the candidate assured of inclusive governance, transparency, and equitable representation, noting that the Eastern Zone remains pivotal to the strength and unity of the Ijaw Nation. He also appreciated the warm reception accorded to his team.

Igbadiwei outlined plans to prioritize peace-building, sustainable development, and stronger advocacy, while reiterating his proposal to establish an “Ijaw House” in Aboluma as a central hub for unity, dialogue, and cultural identity.

Supporters in the zone expressed optimism about his candidacy, pointing to his experience and consistent involvement in INC affairs. His track record includes serving as former Publicity Secretary of Apoi Clan, pioneer caretaker chairman and first elected chairman of Gbaraun Clan, and Legal Adviser in the INC Central Zone under the leadership of Kennedy Odiowei. He currently serves as Legal Adviser of Gbaraun Clan.

The campaign is being driven by a team led by Elder Ikokolo Carter as Director-General, with Barr. Bricklayer First-Samuel as spokesperson, alongside other stakeholders including Pst. Akpos Seimodei, High Chief Ebipadei Kari, Pst. Reuben Wilson, Hon. Dr. Williams Alamene, High Chief Robinson Ogbunkoro, and Chief Olugbo George.

The Eastern Zone outreach underscores a broader push to build consensus and address longstanding concerns within the INC, as Igbadiwei positions himself as a reform-driven candidate committed to strengthening the voice of the Ijaw people.
