Hon. Chibuike Emmanuel E. Applauds Speaker Abbas Tajudeen for the Passage of Landmark Tax Reform Bills

Hon. Chibuike Emmanuel E., Special Assistant to the Speaker on Energy, has commended his principal, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, for his exemplary leadership in steering the passage of the four tax reform bills by the House of Representatives on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

The tax reform bills, which were sent to the National Assembly in October 2024, have been the subject of intense debate and scrutiny. Various stakeholders, including Northern leaders, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and other interest groups, expressed concerns about certain provisions. However, under the impeccable leadership of Mr. Speaker, the House has successfully navigated these challenges and passed the bills.

Hon. Chibuike Emmanuel E. emphasized that this milestone reaffirms Speaker Abbas Tajudeen’s reputation as a seasoned leader who prioritizes national progress through dialogue, inclusivity, and consensus-building. He stated:

“Despite the controversies surrounding the tax reforms, Mr. Speaker has demonstrated unwavering commitment to legislative excellence and national interest. Through engagement, diplomacy, and a deep sense of inclusion, he has led the House in achieving a transformative reform that will enhance Nigeria’s economic landscape. Once again, Mr. Speaker, you have shown that with visionary leadership, this great nation will be scaled to greater heights.”

Hon. Chibuike further urged all stakeholders to rally behind these reforms, as they are designed to strengthen Nigeria’s fiscal policies, enhance revenue generation, and drive sustainable economic development.
