GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
SANITATION EXERCISE FOR JUNE, 2025

This is to inform the public that the usual monthly environmental sanitation day exercise holds on Saturday, 28th June, 2025.
Residents are expected to clean their surroundings, cut grasses, clear drains, and natural waterways to allow free flow of water.

Accordingly, all offices, markets, businesses and other public places that are not essential services should remain closed for the 3 hour period of 7am to 10am.

However, there will be no restriction of movement between the 3 hour period of 7am to 10am because of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s Mop-up UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UTME) and the Unified Examination (known as Common Entrance Examination) holding on the same day, Saturday 28th June 2025.

Residents are still expected to clean their environment during the exercises.

The authority expresses appreciation to all the communities in Yenagoa metropolis for their mobilization and cooperation.

Our gratitude also goes to leaders of the various trading units at the Swali main market, Kpansia, Opolo, Etegwe and other markets for their indication to ensure full compliance and participation of their members during the upcoming environmental sanitation exercise.

The Authority wishes to use this medium to call on corporate organizations to partner with us in cleaning our environment.

Note that the playing of football and the riding of bicycles will no longer be tolerated within the period of 7am to 10am.

Keeping our environment clean is a collective responsibility.

Let us join hands to make Bayelsa State clean and green.

Signed:

Hon.Timothy Diekivie Itiedu
Chairman, Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Authority.
