FORMER LAWMAKER FAULTS EX-LEGISLATORS FORUM OVER ENDORSEMENT OF GOV. DIRI’S SECOND TERM BID

Following a recent move by the Former Legislators Forum of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly over a purported endorsement of the Bayelsa State Governor, Sen. Douye Diri for his second term bid, Former Lawmaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and Member of the Forum, HON. EBIPADEI B. FEKOWEIMO has expressed disappointment in the leadership and members of the Forum for allowing partisanship by their endorsement of the Governor of the State as a choice in the November 11, 2023 Guber race, holding that it contradicts the Forum’s constitution citing Section 2 on the Aims and Objectives of the Forum, subsection vii which clearly states that THE FORUM SHALL BE NONE PARTISAN.

In his release to Newsmen, Hon. Ebipadei B. Fekoweimo who is also the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress Bayelsa State Chapter, rather views the action of the leadership of the Forum as unconstitutional, a betrayal of the shared bond of the Forum and selfishness to align with a political party whereas the Forum by its guiding rules should be APPOLITICAL.

HON. EBIPADEI B. FEKOWEIMO calls on the public to discard the endorsement by the forum as it is not justified by the constitution and does not have the consent of all members of the Forum.
