Winner Endurance Crowned First Miss Yiba-Ama (Oruma) as Royal Fathers, Political Leaders, and Youth Converge for Cultural Renaissance

Oruma, Bayelsa State – December 28, 2024

The serene community of Yiba-Ama (Oruma) in Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, came alive with celebration and cultural pride as the inaugural Miss Yiba-Ama (Oruma) Beauty Pageant and Merit Awards was held on Saturday, December 28, 2024.

Organized by KS PEE KONCEPT, the event brought together traditional rulers, government officials, youth leaders, and entertainers in a powerful showcase of talent, beauty, peace advocacy, and community empowerment.

At the center of the night’s excitement was the crowning of 19-year-old Winner Endurance as the first-ever Miss Yiba-Ama (Oruma). Her charm, intellect, and passion for community transformation won her the crown and a platform to serve as Youth Ambassador for the year.

👑 Empowering Beauty with Purpose

The pageant was far more than a competition—it was a movement. Over a 14-day boot camp, the 15 contestants engaged in:

• Leadership and business development training
• Public speaking sessions

Miss Winner Endurance will now champion community-based initiatives, particularly focused on education, peace, and youth development.

👑 Royalty Graces the Occasion

The cultural significance of the event was amplified by the presence of revered royal fathers, including:
• His Majesty, W.D. Amakiri, Obanobhan II of Emeyal Clan, who was honored with a Yiba-Ama Merit Award for his distinguished leadership and support for youth initiatives.
• His Royal Highness, King David Osene Osene of Elebele, whose presence brought further traditional recognition and prestige.

Their attendance highlighted the endorsement of cultural institutions in building a better future for the next generation.

Political & Youth Leaders in Full Support

Notable political figures and youth leaders also graced the event, affirming its importance and scale. Among them were:
• Hon. Golden Jeremiah, Executive Chairman of Ogbia Local Government Area, who lent strong governmental support to the initiative.
• Hon. Wisdom Kieribo, Coordinator of the PDP Youth Alliance (Bayelsa State/South-South Zone), whose presence underscored the political will behind youth-driven projects and peacebuilding campaigns in the region.

Their support reflects a growing synergy between grassroots empowerment and leadership across political and cultural lines.

Merit Awards and Peace Walk for Progress

In addition to the pageant, the event featured the Yiba-Ama (Oruma) Merit Awards, recognizing excellence and contributions to the community. Earlier in the day, a “Yiba-Ama Celebrities Peace Walk and Rally” was held, involving beauty queens and celebrities across Bayelsa, with a strong message for peace, unity, and social development.

Spearheaded by KS PEE KONCEPT

The initiative is the brainchild of Queen Karina Simon Poripo, a proud daughter of the community, Nollywood actress, and former Miss Southern Nigeria/Miss Nollywood International. Through her brand, KS PEE KONCEPT, and as a member of the Association of Beauty Pageant Organizers of Nigeria (ABPON), she continues to empower youth through art, pageantry, and culture.

“This is more than a beauty pageant. It’s a revival of our identity, our pride, and our power as a people. Our youth deserve to be seen, heard, and equipped,” said Queen Karina in her closing remarks.

A Platform That’s Here to Stay

With the successful launch of the maiden edition, the Miss Yiba-Ama (Oruma) Beauty Pageant is set to become a yearly tradition, drawing attention to the untapped talents, rich heritage, and growth potential of the community.
