Eid-El-Fitr celebration: Gov. Diri hosts Muslim faithful
Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri today hosted muslim faithful in commemoration of the Eid-el-fitr celebration at his country home in Sampou, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the State.
Governor Diri said the get-together was a significant moment marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The governor wished all Muslim faithful in Bayelsa State and Nigeria a happy Sallah celebration.
“First, I want to identify with the Muslim community as you celebrate your Sallah in Bayelsa State, Nigeria and across the world. I wish you a happy Sallah.
The Muslim community in Bayelsa has been very supportive of the Prosperity government. From our first tenure down to the second tenure, we have had a very robust and cordial relationship with the Muslim community. They have contributed towards the progress and development of Bayelsa State.
Let us continue to tolerate each other. Let us continue to live in peace and unityā€¯, Gov. Diri stated.
Dignitaries at the event were Hon. Pamoh Werinipre, member representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency 1 in Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Mitin Living, member representing Ekeremor constituency 2 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Commissioners, Hon. Peter Akpe, Chief of Staff Government House, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, Deputy Chief of Staff Government House, Reverend Godspower Asingba, Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious matters, and other top government officials.
