Comedian Chuks D General, Foundation Unveil Abuja Talent-Hunt Show, Set N3 Million Prize

Nigeria’s Stand-up Comedian, Chuks D General, real name, Chukwuyem Israel over the weekend, unveiled a talent-hunt show tagged ‘Abuja Comedy Challenge’ in partnership with Blessed Hope Foundation.
The comedian who will be hosting the event said the idea for the show was born out of the need to create a platform for young and aspiring comedians to give them a soft landing in their career.
According to him, Blessed Hope Foundation, a non profit organisation found the partnership worthy as it aligns with its mandate of uplifting people.
He said the grand prize (3 million) also entails an opportunity for the winner to perform on all the platforms that he (the host) performs with all logistics expenses paid as well as direct mentoring.
“On that day the four of them will come and compete with the live audience. This time around, it will be a large audience.
“The dimension the foundation will be going is to come on the 25th of December and reward the winner with the Price to help them grow in their career and help them move forward from one phase to the other.
“Blessed Hope Foundation is focused on uplifting people. I sold the idea to them to uplift people in my field, the comedy industry.
“Because of my story, how I came up, how I went through challenges, I don’t want them to go through the same thing, I want to give them a soft landing. If the comedians being assisted become big tomorrow, they are products of the project done by Blessed Hope foundation, ” he said.
The Comedian said that auditions for the show would be held in two batches, the first batch being October and the second November. He therefore called on all Nigerians who believe in their ability or potential in the comedy field to apply, as no fee is required for application.
He said unlike his usual Christmas show, the grand finale for the challenge will be a major high point as four of the contestants will battle for the final prize during his show on December 25th.
