BY: Berezi Prosper Ebizimor.

The Ijaw Nation and the global Afrobeat community stand in celebration of one of our brightest stars — Alfred Izonebi, popularly known as Jking — as we honor a man whose musical brilliance continues to inspire generations.

Arguably the best Ijaw Afrobeat superstar of our time, Jking’s artistry transcends borders. His music reflects the soul of a people, the rhythm of our culture, and the passion of a true creative spirit. He is not just a performer — he is a movement.

From stage to studio, Jking’s performances are nothing short of electric. His stagecraft, energy, and ability to connect with audiences are simply exceptional. Each show is an unforgettable experience, reminding us of the power of music to unite and uplift.

On the 20th of May 2025, the world will witness a triple celebration in honor of this iconic figure: his birthday, the launch of his new album, and the grand opening of his ultra-modern event centre and music studio.

This day will mark a new chapter in the journey of a legend. The unveiling of the state-of-the-art studio is a testament to Jking’s commitment to nurturing talent and investing in the future of Ijaw music and entertainment.

Jking’s contributions to the growth of Afrobeat within the Niger Delta and beyond cannot be overstated. His works have amplified the Ijaw voice on global stages, turning traditional sounds into contemporary masterpieces.

As we prepare to celebrate, we call on fans, industry stakeholders, and lovers of Afrobeat to join in honoring this musical hero. Your presence will be a tribute to a man who has given so much to the culture and the people.

We commend Jking for staying true to his roots while constantly raising the bar. His legacy is being written not just in melodies, but in opportunities created for others to shine.

Long live the music, long live the movement. Congratulations, Jking — the pride of Ijawland!
