Bomo-Olodi Socio-Cultural Group Inaugurates New Exco; Honours Personalities for Meritorious Public Service.
In a bid for peaceful coexistence and communal unity amongst clans in the oil-rich Southern Ijaw local government area in Bayelsa state, a socio-cultural group under the aegis of the Bomo-Olodi Committee of friends also known as “The Billionaires’ Club” on Sunday, tenth September 2022 inaugurated a new executive to run its affairs for the next two years.
The event, which was held at the Tamara Resort along Otiotio Road in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, also allowed the group to celebrate one of her members, Chief Kimibeghi Ofiye Kimis who recently received a Chieftaincy Title from Arogbo Kingdom in Ondo State as the Positariwei 1 (Lover of Children) of Arogbo Ijaw Community.
Choice TV correspondent report that royal blessings and prayers were offered on Chief Kimibeghi Office from the Ibenanawei of Akamakubu Clan, HRM, King Dr. Erepamo J. Olotu, and paramount ruler of Olugbo communities, High Chief Ogoma Inifie was the royal father of the day.
They charged the Socio-Cultural Group to keep the task of uniting to foster peace in Bomo and Olodiama clans in izon land.
The group which is made up of like-minds comprises traditional rulers, chiefs, lawyers, and business moguls from the two clans in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area cutting across Bomo and Olodiama Kingdoms.
Newly inaugurated executives of the Bomo-Olodi Committee of Friends were
Hon. Opuofoni Captain – Chairman; HRH Elder Dominic Bafagha – Vice Chairman; Hon Chief Jonahalu James Eridei – Secretary, Chief General Jeremiah Biewari – Treasurer; Mr. Champion Wilson Seiwari – PRO, other members are Chief Kimibeghi Ofiye Kimis; Mr. Dickson Peresoudei; General Asupa Oupele and Mr. Henry Igoniwei.
The event was graced by top government officials and the political class including two former Speakers of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kombowei Benson who was a special Guest of Honour, and Rt. Hon. Obolo Obubou, who was chairman of the day.
Other dignitaries were Hon. Preye Oseke, Hon. Moses Marlon, the CEO of Kilotex Nigeria Limited, Mrs. Philomena Lafiegha, Hon. Helen Bob amongst others.
The high point of the occasion was the presentation of awards by the Bomo-Olodi Committee of Friends to her patrons, goodwill messages from distinguished guests, and music supplied by Izon musical maestro, King Afuruku, and his dance band of Izon Land.
The Bomo-Olodi Committee of Friends popularly called “The Billionaires’ Club” is a non-political group whose aims and objectives are to reach out to the less privileged and the needy in the Bomo and Olodiama Clans of Bayelsa State and the society at large.
