BAYELSA STATE POLICE COMMAND HAS ARRESTED TWO SUSPECTS OVER AN ALLEGED PLOT TO ASSASSINATE A PROPHET IN THE STATE

According to a press release issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Mohammed, operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit effected the arrests on January 28, 2026, at about 10:35am, following credible intelligence.
The suspects were identified as Samuel Daniel, a 21-year-old male from Nembe Ogbolomabiri Community in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, and Pastor Elijah Oro, a 59-year-old male from Ozoro Community in Delta State.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Samuel Daniel was arrested within the premises of the prophet whose name was withheld. The suspect allegedly confessed to being a member of the Greenlanders Confraternity and claimed that he was hired by Pastor Elijah Oro to carry out the assassination.
The Police said investigations are ongoing to unravel the full details and motive behind the alleged plot.
