*BAYELSA PDP CANDIDATES TO RECEIVE CERTIFICATES OF RETURN IN ABUJA AS CHAIRMAN TURNAH HAILS PARTY UNITY*

Yenagoa, Bayelsa State – June 24, 2026

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will today present Certificates of Return to its victorious Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates at the National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja. The certificates will be presented by the PDP National Chairman.

The Bayelsa State candidates receiving certificates emerged from transparent primaries conducted under the supervision of the Bayelsa State Chairman, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON.

Chief Turnah’s leadership was pivotal to the process. Appointed Caretaker Chairman in April 2025 and later elected State Chairman by consensus in March 2026, he steered Bayelsa PDP through internal reforms and a credible screening of 38 aspirants ahead of the 2027 primaries. As Chief Collation Officer, he also supervised the party’s presidential primary in Bayelsa, which produced Senator Sandy Ojang Onor as winner in the state.

Speaking ahead of the presentation, Chairman Turnah said:
_“This is a proud moment for Bayelsa PDP. Our candidates earned these tickets through a process that was open, fair, and peaceful. Under our watch, we restored internal democracy and unity. Today’s certificates are not just documents, they are a mandate from our people. We are ready to contest and win every seat for PDP in 2027.”_

Today’s event underscores Bayelsa PDP’s readiness for the 2027 general elections as the party rallies its candidates and members for the polls.
