2026 Budget: Ex-Agitators Commend Tinubu, Seek Prompt Release of Funds

The Ex-Agitators Leaders Forum under the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assenting to the 2026 Appropriation Bill and extending the 2025 budget to sustain government spending.
In a statement by its Chairman, Ibena Rufus Salvation, the group said the move would ensure adequate funding for ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to complete ongoing projects and deliver on their mandates.
According to Ibena who doubles as the National Chairman PAP Phase 2, the assent to the 2026 budget, as well as the extension of the 2025 fiscal plan, would help address funding gaps and ensure that key government projects are not abandoned.
He stressed that adequate funding remains critical to the successful implementation of government programmes, particularly in infrastructure, social services and economic development.
He further expressed optimism that the new budget would support growth, create jobs and improve the living conditions of Nigerians if properly implemented.
Ibena, however, urged the Minister of Finance and the Accountant-General of the Federation to ensure the prompt release of funds to MDAs to avoid delays in project execution.
He emphasised that timely disbursement of funds would enable ministries and agencies to complete ongoing projects and meet their targets within the fiscal period.
He reaffirmed their support for the Tinubu administration, expressing hope that the budget implementation process would be transparent, efficient and beneficial to all Nigerians.
