The Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Barr. George Turnah is set to formally welcome renowned Niger Delta businessman, Richard Akinaka to the state secretariat for the revalidation of his membership.

It was gathered that the visit which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 12 noon will also be a congratulatory visit to the State Working Committee.

In a statement made available to Mangrovepen noted that the event promises to be a significant move in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s structure and consolidate unity within its ranks in the state.

Akinaka who is also the founder/CEO of Abitto Global Services is one of high-profile personalities who recently defected to the PDP, a development that has reportedly energized the party’s base in the state.

Party stakeholders say the development is a demonstration of renewed commitment to the ideals and vision of the PDP, noting that such moves will further enhance the party’s cohesion and readiness for future political engagements.

The Bayelsa PDP, in the statement, reaffirmed its commitment to inclusiveness and grassroots mobilization, emphasizing that the party remains open to all members and stakeholders willing to contribute to its growth and success.

The event is expected to draw party leaders, members, and supporters, as the PDP continues its drive toward consolidation and repositioning in Bayelsa State.
