BAYELSA STATE POLICE COMMAND SET TO MARK 2026 NATIONAL POLICE DAY

The Bayelsa State Police Command wish to inform the general public of the forthcoming 2026 National Police Day celebration, as approved by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, PSC (+), NPM.
The celebration, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” is scheduled to hold from Monday, 30th March 2026 to Tuesday, 7th April 2026, and will feature a series of community-oriented activities aimed at strengthening police-public relations and enhancing public safety. Accordingly, the Command has rolled out the following activities:
Day 1 (30/03/2026): COMMUNITY OUTREACH
i. Sanitation Exercise
Time: 0700hrs
Venue: Swali Ultra-Modern Market, Yenagoa
ii. Free Medical Services
The Police Medical Team will provide free healthcare services to members of PWA/POWA, PCRC, and the general public.
Time: 0800hrs
Venue: Swali Ultra-Modern Market, Yenagoa
iii. Town Hall Meeting
Engagement with traditional rulers, PCRC, and other stakeholders, focusing on sensitization against electoral violence, ballot snatching, and related offences.
Time: 1300hrs
Venue: Police Officers’ Mess, Yenagoa
Day 2 (31/03/2026): WALKATHON
Take-off point: Police State Headquarters, Yenagoa
Date: Tuesday, 31st March 2026
Time: 0700hrs
Day 3 (01/04/2026): COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND SENSITIZATION
Public enlightenment targeting stakeholders and drivers on electoral violence, ballot snatching, safe driving, and traffic regulations at Ekeki Park, Yenagoa.
Date: Wednesday, 1st April 2026
Time: 1000hrs
Day 4 (02/04/2026): PRESENTATION OF CHEQUES
Welfare support to families of deceased Police personnel at the State Command Headquarters.
Date: Thursday, 2nd April 2026
Time: 0900hrs
Day 5 (07/04/2026): GRAND FINALE
The celebration will conclude with a grand event at Eagle Square, Abuja.
Date: Tuesday, 7th April 2026

The Command hereby invites members of the public, community leaders, stakeholders, and partner organizations to actively participate in these activities as we collectively strive to build trust, foster cooperation, and ensure sustainable peace in Bayelsa State.
