Strong support has continued to trail the candidacy of Athy Nestor Oki for the position of Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Bayelsa State Chapter, as prominent stakeholders in the creative industry publicly reaffirm their confidence in her leadership capacity.

Speaking on behalf of concerned industry practitioners, Mr. Dim Oba, Convener of the Film for Change Initiative (FCI), described Athy Nestor Oki as “the most suitable and prepared candidate” to continue steering the affairs of the Guild in Bayelsa State.

According to Mr. Oba, Athy’s leadership record has been defined by inclusiveness, transparency, and a strong commitment to the welfare of actors across the state. He noted that her tenure has strengthened collaboration among stakeholders while improving the visibility and relevance of the Guild within the broader Nigerian film industry.

“As a practicing actress and creative entrepreneur, she understands firsthand the realities and challenges faced by actors in Bayelsa. Her experience places her in a unique position to advocate effectively for members’ rights, professional development, and sustainable opportunities,” he stated.

The FCI Convener further emphasized that under her stewardship, the Guild has witnessed enhanced engagement with partners, renewed focus on professionalism, and sustained efforts toward unity and peace within the chapter.

Mr. Oba maintained that continuity in leadership would consolidate the gains already recorded and position AGN Bayelsa for greater impact and sustainability.

“It is our considered position that Athy Nestor Oki remains the best suited candidate to lead the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Bayelsa State Chapter. We call on all members to support her for sustained progress and collective advancement,” he concluded.
