GROUP CONGRATULATES BAYELSA NEW DEPUTY GOVERNOR, HON. PETER AKPE
~Appreciates Gov. Douye Diri’s Strategic Nomination and Stakeholders Confidence and Support
The Renewed Hope for Assured Prosperity Movement for Bayelsa has officially congratulated His Excellency, Hon. Peter Pereotubo Akpe Ph.D, on his successful swearing-in as the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State on 25th February 2026.
In a congratulatory message released by the organisation’s Director of Media, Mr. Thorpe Okokoyoh, the group described the emergence of Hon. Peter Akpe as a well-deserved elevation to higher service and a testament to his years of dedication and commitment to public service.
Hon. Lucky Agbalaje, Director of Administration and Finance of the organisation, highlighted the Deputy Governor’s vast experience and impressive track record in governance.
He noted that Hon. Akpe has served meritoriously in various capacities, including Councillor, two-term Member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and Majority Leader, Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief of Staff, and now Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.
According to Hon. Agbalaje, the resilient and people-oriented leadership style of Hon. Akpe clearly reflects his capacity to serve effectively as the number two citizen of the state.
He described the appointment as divinely inspired and expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, for what he termed a careful, thoughtful, and timely nomination.
Also speaking, Engr. Dr. Austen Pabor commended Governor Douye Diri for finding Hon. Peter Akpe worthy of the responsibility to serve Bayelsans at the highest level.
He expressed confidence that the Prosperity Government and the people of Bayelsa State would witness remarkable and outstanding performance from the new Deputy Governor.
Engr. Pabor further called on Bayelsans to celebrate the choice of Hon. Akpe, describing him as a fitting successor to the late Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who served the state diligently and with distinction.
He extended appreciation to political stakeholders, friends, and supporters of Hon. Peter Akpe for their steadfast prayers and support throughout the nomination and confirmation process.
He added that the massive turnout at the swearing-in and reception ceremony reflected the confidence and joy of Bayelsans in the leadership direction of Governor Douye Diri and his administration.
