Yenagoa —
The national leadership of the City Boy Movement (CBM) has appointed Chief Barrister Blankson Edwin Osomkime as the Bayelsa State Director of the movement, citing his strong grassroots appeal, organisational capacity, and unwavering loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The appointment, which was conveyed to members in Bayelsa State, is seen as a strategic move by the national body to reposition and strengthen the structure of the movement at the state level ahead of future political engagements.

According to sources within the movement, Chief Barr. Osomkime’s selection followed wide consultations and careful consideration of his track record in grassroots mobilisation and political advocacy. The national leadership reportedly commended his consistent dedication to the ideals of the City Boy Movement and his visible commitment to promoting the Renewed Hope agenda championed by President Tinubu.

In a statement, the movement described him as “a dependable mobiliser and loyal progressive whose influence at the grassroots has significantly contributed to the visibility and growth of the City Boy Movement in Bayelsa State.”

The statement further noted that his appointment is expected to galvanise members across the eight local government areas of the state, strengthen internal coordination, and expand the movement’s reach among youths and stakeholders.

Chief Barr. Blankson Edwin Osomkime, a known supporter of President Tinubu, has built a reputation for effective community engagement and strategic political organisation, earning the confidence of both members and leaders of the movement.

Reacting to his appointment, Chief Barr. Osomkime expressed profound gratitude to the national leadership of the City Boy Movement for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to justify the trust by intensifying mobilisation efforts and fostering unity among members across the state.

“I am honoured by this responsibility entrusted to me by the national leadership. I remain committed to advancing the ideals of the City Boy Movement and supporting progressive leadership that will continue to move our state and nation forward,” he stated.
