Forum Of Past Student Leaders, University Of Uyo Honours  Chief Reuben C. Wilson With Award Of Excellence

The Forum of Past Student Leaders of the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has conferred an Award of Excellence on High Chief Reuben C. Wilson in recognition of his outstanding contributions to leadership and community development.

The award, presented under the forum’s “Award of Experience” initiative, celebrates Chief Wilson’s years of dedicated service, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to societal growth, values which members of the forum described as exemplary and worthy of emulation by younger generations.

Presenting the award, representatives of the forum praised  Chief Wilson for his fatherly role and consistent support for youth empowerment, education, and community advancement, noting that his influence has continued to inspire former student leaders within and beyond the University of Uyo.

They described him as “The People’s Daddy,” a title earned through his accessibility, compassion, and steadfast dedication to the welfare of others, particularly students and emerging leaders.

In his response,  Chief Reuben C. Wilson expressed gratitude to the forum for the honour, describing it as a humbling recognition that reinforces his commitment to continued service and leadership. He encouraged young leaders to remain steadfast in integrity, service, and community-focused development.
