BAYELSA PDP MOURNS DEMISE OF ITS LEADER SEN. EWHRUDJAKPOR; CONDOLES GOVERNOR DIRI, GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE OF BAYELSA STATE
The Bayelsa State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) receives with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss the news of the passing of one of our most revered leaders and statesmen, Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpor, who departed this life on Thursday, 11th December, 2025.
The Bayelsa PDP mourns this painful and irreparable loss not only to our great Party, but also to the Government and people of Bayelsa State and Nigeria at large. Senator Ewhrujakpor was a man of rare character, exceptional leadership capacity, and uncommon courage, whose political journey was defined by an unyielding passion for the welfare, unity, and progress of Bayelsa State.
Throughout his life of service, Senator Ewhrujakpor distinguished himself as a bridge-builder, a voice of reason, and a dependable ally to successive administrations. He consistently placed the collective interest of the people above personal considerations and remained committed to peace, fairness, and inclusive development.
The Bayelsa PDP recalls with deep appreciation his steadfast loyalty at one of the most trying periods in the history of our Party, when waves of defection swept across the South South and threatened the stability of the PDP in Bayelsa State. While others faltered, Senator Ewhrujakpor stood firm, resolute in his belief in the ideals, vision, and founding principles of the PDP. He offered strength, wise counsel, and encouragement to party faithful and refused to abandon the platform he laboured so hard to build.
He was a loyal party man to the core, a stabilizing force, and a leader whose faith in the PDP never wavered, even in the face of uncertainty. His dogged commitment and sacrifices helped to keep the Party united, focused, and resilient in Bayelsa State.
Beyond party politics, Senator Ewhrujakpor was deeply compassionate and consistently advocated policies and actions aimed at improving the lives of ordinary Bayelsans. His concern for the welfare of the people, promotion of peace, and belief in democratic governance remain enduring hallmarks of his public life.
The Bayelsa PDP extends its heartfelt condolences to His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, the Bayelsa State Government, the immediate family of the late Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpor, and the entire people of Bayelsa State over this monumental loss.
Even as we mourn his passing, we take solace in the enduring legacy of service, loyalty, courage, and selflessness he left behind; legacies that will continue to inspire generations of leaders and party faithful.
We pray that the Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest and gives his family, the Government, and the good people of Bayelsa State the strength and grace to bear this painful loss.
