“I WILL NOT MARRY A SECOND WIFE,” GEORGE TURNAH DECLARES AS HE JOINS WIFE IN THANKSGIVING SERVICE

The Zonal Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), South South Zone, and Acting Chairman of the party in Bayelsa State, Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, has publicly reaffirmed his commitment to monogamy, declaring that he will not marry a second wife, as he joined his wife, Mrs. Jennifer Turnah, in a thanksgiving service following the successful burial of his father-in-law, late Pastor Bibo Angaye.

The thanksgiving service was held at Grace Dynasty Ministries, Yenagoa, after the burial of Pastor Angaye on Friday, December 12, 2025B at Okoloba Town in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The atmosphere was one of gratitude, reflection and renewed faith, as prayers were offered for the family, alongside words of encouragement and strength from the presiding minister, Pastor S. S. John-Peters.
Speaking during the service, Barr. Turnah attributed the successful burial and the strength the family received to the help and mercy of God. “Except the Lord helps you, you really can do nothing,” he said, noting that the family returned to God in thanksgiving for divine provision of strength, resources, time and material support throughout the burial process.

In an emotional and reflective address, Turnah emphasized the importance of standing by one’s spouse, particularly in moments of loss. He described marriage as a lifelong covenant, stressing that supporting his wife during the burial of her father was both a moral and biblical responsibility.
“Marriage is for life,” he declared. “This one is my own. She is taken. It is for better and for worse. This idea of a second wife is not for me. George Turnah will not marry a second wife.”
He explained that his marriage to Jennifer was founded on deliberate values, respect for family background, character and divine guidance, noting that the Angaye family stood out for strong moral and academic pedigree. He further described his late father-in-law as a man who lived and died in the Lord, adding that death, for believers, is not the end but a transition.
Barr. Turnah also extended condolences to the people and government of Bayelsa State, particularly sympathizing with the people of Ofoni and the Ewhrudjakpor family following the recent death of the state’s deputy governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpor.
In her remarks, Mrs. Jennifer Turnah recounted the emotional journey following her father’s sudden illness and death, describing it as her first personal encounter with such a profound loss. She said the experience disrupted her academic pursuits and left her grappling with grief, but affirmed that God sustained her through the process.
She expressed deep gratitude to God for the life of her father, describing him as a good man who raised her in the ways of God and lived a life of impact. She also appreciated her husband for standing firmly by her side, describing him as a true son to her late father.
“My husband did everything a son should do,” she said. “My father is blessed, his children are blessed, and his church is blessed.”
The couple further expressed their heartfelt and unreserved appreciation to everyone who stood with them in love and solidarity, offering support and companionship throughout the burial ceremony.
The thanksgiving service was well attended by family members, friends, political associates and well-wishers, who gathered to rejoice with the couple and thank God for His faithfulness.
The service concluded with thanksgiving and praise to God for a successful burial and for the life and legacy of late Pastor Bibo Angaye.
