Bayelsa State – In honor of the late Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who passed away while in office on Thursday, The CEO Monimichelle Sports Ebi Egbe has called for the Prosperity Games in Bayelsa State to be renamed the Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo Memorial Cup.
The international business man, philanthropist said the renaming would pay tribute to a man whose life and service embodied dedication, humility, and commitment to the development of Bayelsa State. He further emphasized that such a gesture would ensure that future generations of Bayelsans continue to remember and celebrate Ewhrudjakpo’s contributions to governance, youth empowerment, and sports development.
“The Prosperity Cup in Bayelsa State should bear the name of Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo,” Ebi said. “This will serve as a lasting legacy, inspiring young people to emulate his dedication to public service and community development.”
Ewhrudjakpo’s untimely death has elicited widespread condolences from political leaders and citizens alike. Ebi Egbe’s proposal seeks to create a permanent reminder of his impact, linking his legacy to youth engagement and sports in the state.
