The Founder and National Leader of the Pastor Reuben Initiative for Good Leadership and Accountability, Chief Pastor Reuben Clifford Wilson, has called on his teeming supporters, party chieftains, and loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to wholeheartedly welcome the Prosperity Government of Senator Douye Diri, alongside National Assembly and Bayelsa State House of Assembly members, into the fold of the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Chief Pastor Reuben Wilson made this call while addressing newsmen on Saturday, November 1, 2025, emphasizing that “the party is supreme” and that unity remains the key to achieving sustainable progress and development in Bayelsa State and the nation at large. He described the decision of Governor Diri and other key political figures to align with the APC as “a welcome development and a victory for democracy, progress, and inclusiveness.” According to him, this bold move reflects the growing confidence of political leaders in the Renewed Hope policies of President Tinubu and the party’s commitment to national growth, good governance, and the welfare of all citizens.
Chief Wilson, who is widely recognized as a bridge-builder and grassroots mobilizer in the Niger Delta, urged all APC stakeholders in Bayelsa State to embrace peace, unity, and cooperation in order to consolidate on the gains of the Renewed Hope government.
“This is not the time for division or internal wrangling. We must put the interest of our great party and our dear state above personal interests. The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is for all Nigerians, and we in Bayelsa must key into it fully,” Chief Pastor Reuben Clifford Wilson stated.
In addition, Chief Wilson appealed to Governor Douye Diri to be a bridge-builder as he prepares to join the APC, uniting all aggrieved persons and fostering reconciliation among party stakeholders. He urged the Governor to convene a stakeholders and party faithful meeting immediately after he formally crosses over to the APC, to promote inclusiveness and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood within the party.
Furthermore, Chief Wilson revealed that his grassroots support group — the Pastor Reuben Initiative for Good Leadership and Accountability — which has been at the vanguard of supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 2022, has already mobilized its members across the six South-South states, especially in Bayelsa, to be present at the defection ground to show solidarity and support for Governor Douye Diri and his cabinet members.
“Our structure has been fully briefed and mobilized across the South-South. We are ready to stand solidly behind Governor Douye Diri as he joins the progressive family under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. This is a new dawn for Bayelsa State, and we will give our full support to ensure unity, progress, and the strengthening of our great party,” Chief Pastor Reuben Clifford Wilson affirmed.
He further appealed to party faithful to extend the hand of fellowship to all new entrants, assuring them of equal opportunities, mutual respect, and a shared vision for a prosperous Bayelsa.
Chief Wilson reiterated his unwavering commitment to the leadership of the APC and reaffirmed his belief that unity among party members will strengthen democracy and advance the Renewed Hope vision for inclusive development across the Niger Delta and beyond.
