Pastor Reuben Wilson Bags M.Sc in Political Science from UNIUYO, Charges Young Persons to Embrace Education

Chief Pastor Reuben Clifford Wilson, member governing Council of the University of Uyo has bagged a Master’s Degree in Political Science with specialisition in International Relations and Politics from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Chief Pastor Reuben successfully defended his thesis work before Bayelsa-born erudite scholar, Professor Ibaba S. Ibaba as external examiner at the University of Uyo on 28th July, 2025.

Making his final defence as part of requirement for the conferment of the M.Sc degree, Pastor Reuben appeared for the External Defence in Political Science at the University of Uyo with confidence despite being a governing council member.

Pastor Reuben was rigorous examined by the Bayelsa born academic genus Professor Ababa S.Ebaba, a Professor of Political Science from the Niger Delta University.

 

Speaking with TVAFRICA24 NEWS in an interview after the academic exercise, Pastor Reuben, said he is not done yet as he is preparing to take up a doctorate degree adding it has been a lifelong dream to rise to the highest academic qualification in the land.

He explained that growing up, he didn’t have the privilege of going to school with his mates due to his poor background but made up his mind when providence smiled on him to take up the challenge despite his busy schedule of business and politics.

Pastor Reuben said he never missed class during the duration of his Master’s Degree program saying that he studied night and day and wrote research papers and thesis. Asking another in doubt to check his records at the university of Uyo.

He boosted that he has a personal library stocked with books from several generations in his house and his immediate family members will attest to the seriousness he attached to pursue his academic goals.

The CEO of Reuwell Oil, therefore call on Niger Delta Youths to embrace Education in whatever means that is available to them and come up with innovative ideas through their research that can develop the region.

He advised that education is not cheap but calls for discipline, hardwork, and dedication to conquer the challenges that comes with it adding that Youths should take advantage of available scholarships opportunities within and outside the region to better their lives.

Also attesting to Pastor Reuben’s academic doggedness is Dr. Williams Alamene, who is a lecturer at the University of Uyo. He said Pastor Reuben’s pursuit for education impressive commending him for internationally defending his Master’s thesis.

Dr Alamene extoled Pastor Reuben’s regular attendance to class and punctuality even at his B.Sc level without missing a class.

Dr. Solomon David who is an academic protege of Professor Ibaba and a political son of Chief Pastor Reuben was live at the University of Uyo to celebrate with his father, Chief Pastor Reuben on his enviable academic feat.

Pastor Reuben focused his research work on ‘ECOWAS protocol on free movement of persons, Goods establishment, and security implications in Nigeria,.
