A Call to Action: Addressing the Neglect of Gbarantoru Community*
I, High Chief (Hon) Seiyefa Saiyou Jones, break my silence on behalf of the good people of Gbarantoru community in Ekpetiama kingdom constituency 2 in Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

*Decades of Neglect*
Since the inception of democracy in 1999, our community has been consistently marginalized and neglected by the government in terms of appointments and infrastructural development.

*Unfulfilled Promises*
Despite our unwavering support and massive votes for our representatives, we have not benefited from any government projects. Our community has been denied vital developmental projects, government appointments, and commissionerships, LGA chairman, special Advisor, Board chairman and secretary etc.

*Exceptions and Warning*
If not for the ward zoning formula, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to serve as Councilor in Ward Eleven and SSA in Former Governor Dickson’s government. We urge the government to treat this matter with urgency, as the people will not continue to wait patiently forever.

*Demands and Expectations*
We demand that the government addresses our neglect and marginalization. We expect concrete actions, not empty promises. The people of Gbarantoru are watching and waiting, but we will not be silenced forever.

*Current Reality*
The only amenities our community enjoys today, such as roads, water, and light, are courtesy of SPDC, thanks to our oil wells.

*Call to Action*
We will not continue with business as usual. The government must treat our plight with urgency. A stitch in time saves nine.

Signed,

High Chief (Hon) Seiyefa Saiyou Jones
Ikaikai kene of agada kingdom.
