GRASOF ORGANIZING SECRETARY THUMBS UP AKWA IBOM GOVERNOR’S VISION FOR GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT

As the 4th Edition of the Easter U-16 ARISE CUP finals approaches, Coach Ada Gwegwe, the Organising Secretary of the Grassroots Sports Federation of Nigeria (GRASOF), has commended Pastor Umo Eno, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, for his unwavering support for grassroots football development in the state.

In a statement released ahead of the grand finale, scheduled to hold on May 4, 2025, in Uyo, Coach Gwegwe emphasized the importance of investing in grassroots sports for national excellence.

He praised Governor Umo Eno’s efforts, stating that his support for grassroots football would undoubtedly yield positive results for the state’s and nation’s sporting future.

Coach Gwegwe expressed his gratitude to Governor Umo Eno for his continued support and commitment to grassroots sports development, stating that his patronage would undoubtedly inspire young athletes in the state.

Coach Gwegwe also acknowledged the tireless efforts of Hon. John Ekpenyong, President of GRASOF, who has dedicated over 25 years to promoting grassroots football, urging residents of Akwa Ibom State to continue supporting Hon. Ekpeyoung’s initiatives, which have been instrumental in shaping the sporting landscape of the state.

The grand finale promises to be a spectacular event, with distinguished guests in attendance, including Governor Umo Eno, Deputy Governor Senator Dr. Akon Eyakenyi, Speaker Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Prince Enobong Uwah, and Commissioner for Sports Elder Paul Bassey.
