INC has issued a stern warning against any attempt to impeach Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara
The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has issued a stern warning against any attempt to impeach Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, stating that such an action would lead to widespread instability in the Niger Delta region.
The INC president, Prof. Benjamin Okaba, highlighted the historical and political contributions of the Ijaw people to Rivers State’s governance and emphasized that their sacrifices would not be undermined.
He cautioned that the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State is not just ordinary politicking and that the Ijaw people, numbering over 40 million worldwide, would not tolerate any attempt to marginalize them.
Okaba further warned that if Governor Fubara’s tenure is truncated, the INC cannot guarantee the sustenance of peace in the Niger Delta or the continued rise in oil production. With the INC’s firm stance, tensions in Rivers State are expected to escalate, prompting calls for urgent intervention to resolve the political crisis amicably.
