Bayelsa-based social media influencer, Miss Reigneth Awudumu, has raised concerns over an alleged attempt to arrest her following a dispute with a youth leader in the state.
In a distress post shared on her Facebook page, Awudumu alleged that the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit had been ordered to take her into custody. She linked the development to a recent Facebook live video, where she detailed her dissatisfaction with an appointment she was offered by the youth leader.
According to her, the youth leader initially recommended her for a government appointment, but she found the position—Member, Grassroots Mobilisation—to be a downgrade from her previous role. She reportedly contacted him to express her concerns, which led to tensions between them.
Awudumu further explained that she attempted to reconcile with the youth leader, including visiting his office and kneeling to beg for forgiveness, but he eventually withdrew the appointment. After sharing her experience in a live video last week, she claims she is now facing intimidation, with an individual allegedly sent to escort her to the police station this morning.
Her post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some expressing concern over her claims, while others call for clarification from the authorities.
