MISS NOLLYWOOD INTERNATIONAL QUEEN HASSANA OZOHU SALISU CALLS OUT THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY/CEO NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME NHIS NIGERIA

Miss Nollywood international Queen Hassana Ozohu salisu call’s out NHIS and the president Bola Ahmed Tinibu to take a drastic action at the NHIS again.

The national health insurance scheme system from 2014 has under gone several manipulation and mismanagement of fund and staffs payment deduction. This sector which is one of the most important and sensitive sector and system in the country xant be swept away under the rug without a review ahe saidy.

The National Health Insurance Authority is saddled with the responsibility to provide health insurance coverage for all Nigerians that is the attainment of Universal Health Coverage.

The present administration of President Tinubu introduced the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (HSRII) which has gone a long way in ensuring that more Nigerians enjoy health insurance coverage leading to a landmark achievement of increase in coverage from 16.8 million Nigerians to 19.2 million (14.4% increase in one year).

Furthermore, the participating Healthcare facilities and HMOs are not left out of the benefit of the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative as they recently got an increase in the two (2) major payment gateways, namely: capitation and fee-for-service. Capitation went up by 93% while the fee-for-service increased by 378%. This is another giant stride that is worthy of commendation as it will enable quality improvement and ability to meet up the current rising costs of medical items.

Aside the above commendations and on the contrary, one area that is worthy of note is that: the staff of NHIA who are the workforce driving the health insurance coverage of Nigerians does not have a good welfare package. The last time their salary was reviewed was in 2014 (over 10 years now). In this period of 10 years, the Federal Government has increased minimum wage twice and introduced some allowances such as the peculiar allowance but the NHIA staff are left suffering untold hardship without any salary increase. How can a workforce that helped an organization achieve such success in one year be left to suffer like this? Same salary for over 10 years? This should not be heard of in all honesty. Alot of the NHIS staff’s from different state are resigning and seeking to Travel out and get other job’s abroad and on better organization, who then wouytake upon their professional responsibility if the government don’t do the needful?

If the NHIA can introduce intervention programmes for Nigerians health improvement, then the case of the staff of same organization who are driving the health insurance coverage requires a greater intervention. Time to act towards a better welfare for the staff of NHIA is now. Something must be done urgently.

Queen Hassana Ozohu salisu in her report Said again that, she wish that the president who had once through the intervention of God act on an advocacy would take a good look at the scheme’s going on around the NHIS And take proper action to correct these fraudulent act of the management and restore the once loving NHIS it was, i also would appreciate if the President can look into Nasarawa state lafia NHIS office as alot had being swept under the rug and carpet in that office .

The union that takes dues monthly to stand for the staff and advocate for their Rights are not doing anything, rather they are even speaking for management meaning it is possible management has settled them. Union that is supposed to speak for staff’s now speaking against the staff and speaking for management.

Nigerian deserve the best reformation, the best because we are not just a country we are a national figure and nation and must be lead by examples, other countries look upto us and we must stand as that iconics figure.
I come in peace Queen HOS.
