GSS ODI ALUMNI ASSOCIATION VISITS GOVERNOR DOUYE DIRI AT SAMPOU

The Exco and other members of the GSS ODI Alumni association paid a Christmas visit to her very distinguished Alumnus, His Excellency, Senator DOUYE DIRI, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, at his Sampou country home on Friday, December 27th, 2024.
The association used the visit to congratulate the governor on his victory at the polls and the subsequent victory at the courts.
The National Chairman of the association, Dr Ebikisei Stanley Udisi, who let the delegation expressed their appreciation to Governor Diri for his efforts at building a verile and sustainable educational system in line with new realities and social demands in the state. He stated that the GSS ODI Alumni are proud to be associated with him and promised to continue to identify with his developmental strides in the State.
Dr. Udisi specifically recalled the role the governor played during the 50th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the school in 2022 and the subsequent provision of science equipment and reagents for the science laboratories at GSS ODI.

Dr. Udisi further highlighted some specific areas the school and alumni association need the governor’s intervention.

Governor Diri in his response thanked the Exco and the association for the visit. He promised to make specific interventions in GSS ODI and further added that like every other secondary school in the State, GSS, Odi shall enjoy the support and patronage of the State Government, particularly in the areas of science and technical education.

Governor Diri was presented with an award by the association in recognition of his contributions to the sustenance of peace and the massive infrastructural and human development in the state.
