Hoodlums attack federal lawmaker in Benue community

A lawmaker representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency and deputy spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, was allegedly attacked by hoodlums.

 

The Nation reports that the lawmaker was attacked during his constituency engagement in Igumale, headquarters of Ado Local Government area, in Benue State on Thursday, April 4.

 

Residents of the community said Agbese was engaged in Easter festivities with members of his constituents when youths armed with dangerous weapons like clubs knives, cutlass stormed the venue and disrupted proceedings.

 

Agbese was said to have narrowly escaped unhurt as he was whisked away by security personnel.

 

Some of the hoodlums have been arrested by security agencies and investigation has commenced .
