Amb. Richard Pere Franklin is the Brain behind DiscoverMe Project3 – The Journey
AMB.RICHARD PERE FRANKLIN IN THE BEAUTY OF DREAMS LOOKS THROUGH THE JOURNEY OF DISCOVERME PROJECT3.

It was the late American essayist and poet, author of the memorable essay, “Self-Reliance”, Ralph Waldo Emerson, who said, “The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going”. He also was the man who advised achievers: “Work hard in silence. Let your success be your noise”.

AMB. RICHARD FRANKLIN fittingly represents the existential reality of the above quotes. He is one young man who doesn’t believe the word “impossibility” exists, except when he perhaps stumbles upon it in the dictionary.
Amb. Franklin does not back off from anything he considers worthwhile until he has driven it to a logical consequence and created altruistic impact that changes the stories of individuals and the society. That easily explains why everything he ventures into, he leaves inerasable imprints; always proving himself as a rare, determined and relentless young man on a mission.

Like King Midas of Greek mythology, this ingenious, focused, dynamic and celebrated Bayelsa-born creator of life-changing concepts and initiatives has the enviable record of making everything and anything he touches automatically turn into gold.
But his passion for and selfless commitment to the all-bracing growth and development of Children through timely discovery of their talents and pragmatic exploitation and exploration of same is unmatched amongst youths of his generation in Nigerian.
That perhaps is the blurb and essence of the DiscoverMe Project3.
With this concept, Amb. Richard Franklin has further proven his love for children, the necessity and sustained advocacy to secure their present and future by catching them young by deliberately and dedicatedly tapping from the fountains of talents embedded in them by Providence.
Exponentially, Amb. Franklin’s existentialist philosophy has been that the innate talents of so many Nigerian children in our society still remain latent, untapped, unused – and therefore wasted – owing largely to a number of factors.
Some of these include parentage, environment, psychology, worldview, exposure and inability of the child to search from within or think out of the box. He also argues that many windows and doors to self-assertiveness and greatness of a child could be eternally locked due to failure of parents to discover the golden but hidden seeds in them early in life and put them to the best use as catalysts.
With this thesis, he conceptualized the Nigeria Kids Ambassadors Search as a multi-dimensional Special Project Vehicle for countering such perceivable but avoidable failure. Just in a matter of years, Franklin has become a quintessential creator and developer of local content for global attraction and export.
Take for instance the sensation and impact he is presently creating with the DiscoverMe Project3 idea in Akwa Ibom State, a synonymous replication of what he has done across the Niger Delta region over the years. When he first came to Akwa Ibom approximately two years ago, he came with nothing than an invisible small box of golden ideas in his head and a bouquet of budding dreams which he was to plant to germinate and flourish into material reality in the minds of chidden and parents.
Arriving the State, his target – typical of him – like in all previous circumstances and States he had been, was to start small, but with a big dream, and progressively blossom in the creative assignment of impacting on young minds and the society, opening windows and platforms of opportunities for self-discovery through creating fresh and novel consciousness for excellence and professionalism.
The other day he told the press, “It is almost like a crime, and comes with great struggle and regrets, for a child to waste or concentrate all of his or her talents in areas or disciplines he or she does not have natural flair for and competence in, but yet has been forced to pursue. The worst is not to discover one’s area of strength, thus becoming a Jack of all trade and master of none”, the Ambassador observed.
He continues: “Even if a child excels in certain academic areas, there was need for parents to look inwards to spot and harness perceptible or discernible superlative areas of creative endowments or strong interest indicators such a child possesses, which can be honed to complement his or her overall productivity and existence”.
This was the ideology and challenge he presented to Akwa Ibom children and parents. His foresight and journey into this commendable venture started far back in 2007 somewhere in Port Harcourt and Bayelsa State, when he was still tender in age.
That eventually gave birth to the Inspire Nigeria Child Project, A Schools Conference Initiative created in National, Regional and State Levels.
It is on this platform that the DiscoverMe Project was born as a complementary facet to the multi-purpose talent-hunt model where Ambassador Richard Franklin today serves as Managing Director.
On this creative platform, stars and kid-models have been discovered from States in Nigeria and groomed into ambassadors on the global stage.
After the COVID’19 hiatus that interrupted the project, the Inspired Schools Conference platform held its 14th edition of Inspired Niger Delta Schools Conference, March 20, 2021, at Ibom Hall, IBB Way, Uyo. It was there and then that DiscoverMe Project3, was birthed in the State.
In less than no time, the project in Akwa Ibom has come with encouraging testimonies from both children and parents.
This the first time this is happening in the State and the coast very rich and clear for exploits. According to the MD, having recorded great successes in Bayelsa and Rivers States, and now at work in Akwa Ibom, the project will progressively go round the 36 States in the country in no distant future.
AMBASSADOR RICHARD FRANKLIN is therefore a source of inspiration and instructive challenge to Nigerian youths. He has been able to prove the power of vision, innovation, resourcefulness, tenacity of purpose, and how individuals can act as alchemists to the growth and development of a nation. The DiscoverMe Project3 remains one of Amb. Franklin Richard’s finest credentials in human capacity development.
Looking through the journey of AMBASSADOR FRANKLIN RICHARD, evokes on the mind the famous words of Eleanor Roosevelt, wife to the 28th President of the United States of America, Franklin D. Roosevelt. She said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams!”
